Lafayette Group was established in 1994 by Charles DeWitt and Scott Green. Both partners began their careers working in local criminal justice agencies and eventually came to the Nation's Capital to serve in the Federal Government. Mr. Green held policy positions in Congress and Mr. DeWitt served in the Executive Branch. As founding partners, Mr. Green and Mr. DeWitt have built Lafayette Group into a well known and highly respected company that has met the needs of numerous government and private clients. Working within the public safety arena, Lafayette Group has grown from the original two partners to over 50 highly skilled professional employees.
Prior to establishing Lafayette Group, Mr. Green had worked with Federal, State, and local government for over 20 years. Following service in local criminal justice agencies, Mr. Green transferred his experience and expertise to the U.S. Congress. With more than a decade of service as Special Advisor to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, Mr. Green worked on many of the key legislative initiatives that established Federal agencies and programs that serve the public today.
Mr. DeWitt brought over 20 years of experience in Federal, State, and local agencies when he joined in establishing Lafayette Group. While at the White House, he served as Director of Border Security before his nomination by the President to become Director of the National Institute of Justice. His duties at the U.S. Department of Justice included management of Federal technology programs and development of law enforcement and crime prevention programs.
The Lafayette Group team offers a dynamic and multifaceted variety of skills, gained through professional training and personal experience in Federal, State, and local government. Lafayette Group professionals have a unique portfolio of experience in law enforcement, criminal justice, program management, information systems, public outreach, technical writing and editing, and publications design. The team members have held positions at the White House, Congress, FBI, DEA, CIA, DHS, and worked on the front lines of law enforcement, crime prevention, and national security.
